The Way of the Champion: Mental Skills Training for Sport and Life
Join me as I introduce you to the value of mental skills training. You already know how important it is to train your body but have you considered training your mind. The mental game is important to your consistency and ability to perform your best and to develop a mindset that will help you persevere through adversity.
Many athletes embark on mental skills training when struggling or when the joy has gone missing. You can be proactive; you don’t have to wait. Develop an awareness and understanding of your mental game now.
The Way of the Champion, is a 4 week introduction to get you thinking about your thinking, your goals, confidence, focus and concentration. Consider it an adventure, a journey of self discovery where you will begin to understand how your mind may be getting in your way and how you can use your mind to perform better in practice and competition.
Week 1: We begin with the important question, “What is mental skills training?” We identify common mental obstacles and you begin to identify obstacles you may be facing.
Week 2: We start with “Why”. Why do you do what you do? We discuss vision, goals and setting action plans. We will talk about “will power” and “way power”.
Week 3: This week we talk about focus and concentration. We learn to pay attention to the “right” things and identify process goals to help us stay in the moment.
Week 4: We discuss how important it is to be proactive with confidence and ways to develop confidence.
